Neuer retains World's Best Keeper crown

Bayern and Germany number one Manuel Neuer has been named the World's Best Goalkeeper for the third year in a row. In the 29th running of the poll organised by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) among editorial staff and experts from 50 countries and chosen from all the football continents, the Munich keeper received 188 points, significantly ahead of Juventus veteran Gianluigi Buffon on 78 points and Claudio Bravo of Barcelona on 45 points.

“I’m obviously delighted about this treble, but trophies with the team are naturally more important. That’s what we’re working towards here,” Neuer exclusively informed at the Doha training camp. A third World's Best Keeper crown means Neuer has now caught up with Oliver Kahn, Walter Zenga of Italy and Paraguay’s Jose Luis Chilavert. Only four-time winner Buffon and Iker Casillas with five wins have topped the poll more often.
